Welcome

    Greetings to one and all present here. I am extremely privileged to have this opportunity to address you all at this important moment as we celebrate our 30th Annual Day today. I am J. Mano Kutti, the Headmistress of the school, and I take immense pleasure and pride in presenting a report on the activities and achievements of Queens Matriculation School for the past academic year 2024 - 2025.

I cordially welcome our Chief Guest Mrs. G. Thiraviyakani Gunarathnam, President of Poolangulam, S. Sundra Jeyaraj, Assistant Commandant (DSP) 6th Battalion Madurai, H. Bala Gurusamy B.E, Assistant Manager of KONE Elevator Chennai, our Honourable Correspondent, our beloved Madam, and all the dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers to this glorious occasion of our 30th Annual Day function and Prize Distribution Ceremony.

Founders

    Our Correspondent Mr. S. Selvaraj B.A, B.Ed, D.Pharm demonstrates motherly love and fatherly confidence. His endless care, guidance, and support prove that he is a great leader. Our beloved Madam Mrs. Queens Mary M.A, B.Ed, B.T, Assistant Teacher, worked tirelessly and affectionately with all children during the school's early years. Her dedication laid the foundation for what our school is today.

Dream of Our School

    Our founder Mr. S. Selvaraj envisions creating a dynamic environment to bring out the best in every student holistically. His mission is to nurture healthy, strong, disciplined, bold, and competent students.

Inception of Our Institution

    Dr. Tharmaraj played a vital role in our school's success by supporting us in acquiring land during our most challenging times. Our Correspondent Mr. S. Selvaraj started the school on June 3rd, 1994, with the help of his wife, Mrs. Queens Mary Selvaraj. Dr. Anbu Malar Tharmaraj inaugurated the school with just 14 students. Today, we have classes from Pre-K.G to 10th standard, with 341 students, 19 teaching staff, and 5 non-teaching staff.

Environmental Facilities

    A clean and well-maintained school environment is essential for students' well-being and academic success. Our school provides transport facilities and ensures a hygienic campus with purified water and CCTV cameras in all classrooms. We also have a well-furnished Science Lab and a vast playground for sports like football, volleyball, kabaddi, and cricket.

Computer Lab

    Our computer lab, equipped with 14 computers and 24-hour internet, enhances students' scientific and technological skills. Our students develop their abilities in Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, Drive), Scratch coding, and Canva design. Each student has an email ID, and we conduct online aptitude tests to enhance their skills.

Library

    Our school library fosters curiosity, innovation, and problem-solving. It includes Tamil and English newspapers, GK books, short stories, magazines, and dictionaries. We also subscribe to latest journals to help staff and students stay updated.

Smart Class

    Digital equipment fosters learning by creating an interactive and engaging environment. We employ three teaching methods:

1. Blackboard Teaching – Enhancing reading and comprehension skills.

2. Smart Classroom Teaching – Creating an engaging, modern learning experience.

3. Project-Based Learning – Helping students develop real-world skills.

    Our playroom is designed for our KG students, providing colorful and attractive playthings to enhance their motor skills.

Parents-Teacher Association (PTA)

    We believe in strong communication between parents and teachers. PTA meetings are conducted periodically to discuss student progress and receive parental feedback.

Academic Achievements

Academic excellence is our priority. Our Board Examination toppers:

• M. Rithika – 493 marks (1st Position)

• M. Haritha – 470 marks (2nd Position)

• A.V. Anito Verbin – 463 marks (3rd Position)

Competitions and Achievements

• State-level Independent Day Competition – Conducted by Veda Academy.

• Children’s Day Competition – Conducted by Kalam Education Centre.

• State-level Republic Day Competition – Conducted by Akshaya.

• GK and Thirukkural Exam – Organized by JCI Erode Excell.

    Our students won several awards in Drawing, Handwriting, Kavithai, Essay Writing, and GK competitions.

Science Exhibition

Conducted on October 21, 2024, with 94 participants. Winners were honored with prizes.

Sports and Games

• Karate Belt Test – Students received brown and green belts.

• District-level Silambam Competition – Winners secured 2nd and 3rd places.

• District-level Skating Competition – Students secured 1st and 2nd places.

School Houses

Our students are divided into four houses:

• Gold

• Pearl

• Emerald

• Diamond

    Each house is led by captains and prefects to promote team spirit and leadership.

Extra-Curricular Activities

    Our students participate in Yoga, Karate, Silambam, and Skating.

Entertainment Day Celebrations

Conducted every third Saturday, with indoor and outdoor games for students.

• Kamarajar Birthday (July 15th)

• Independence Day (August 15th)

• Children’s Day (November 14th)

• Christmas Celebration (December 7th)

• Pongal Celebration (January 11th)

Teachers Retreat

    Teachers enjoyed a tour to Venture Falls, Kerala estate, and Courtallam. A student tour is also being planned.

Hindi and Typewriting

• Hindi – 9 students are set to appear for the Prathmic examination on February 16, 2025.

• Typewriting – 7 students wrote the Government typewriting exam, with 4 students securing first class.

Conclusion

As we reflect on the achievements of this academic year, we are reminded of Albert Einstein’s words:

"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think."

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Principal, Management, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, and parents for their continuous support.

With God Almighty’s guidance, we look forward to continuing this journey towards excellence.
